Hope for Ukraine’s second lorry load of humanitarian aid was delivered safely to Suceava in Romania before being transferred to the Brislington-based charity’s contacts in Chernivtsi in Ukraine last month. Tools that had been collected as a result of the charity’s tools amnesty at Keynsham Repair Café, and donations by other groups including Men in Sheds in Warmley, were being put to use immediately by the church in Chernivtsi.
A sewer system has been built for a homeless shelter which is due to open any day. One of the six generators that Hope for Ukraine was able to purchase due to generous donations has also been delivered to the homeless shelter just in time for winter.
On Friday (4th November) two Hope for Ukraine trustees will be driving out to deliver a minibus full of items including mobility aids to the contacts in Chernivtsi. This will be left with them to support a nursing home and other displaced people. The minibus has been generously given by Crofts End Church in St George.
