Who We Are

This privacy policy will explain how our organisation (Hope for Ukraine) uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our website (hopeforukraine.org.uk).

What Data We Collect

If you make a donation online, we collect your name and email address to process the donation, and send you your receipt.

If you request that Gift Aid be applied to your donation, we collect your title and mailing address to claim Gift Aid from HMRC.

If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your name and email address to send you the emails.

Who we share your data with

If you make an online donation, your name, email address, and payment details are shared with Stripe, our third party data processor for online payments. Hope for Ukraine does at any time not store your debit or credit card details.

If you request that Gift Aid to be applied to your donation, we will share your name, address, and donation amount with HMRC to claim Gift Aid.

If you opt to sign up for our newsletter, we will share your name and email address with MailChimp, our third party data processor for email marketing.

How long we retain your data

If you make a donation online, we retain this data for 6 years.

If you sign up for our newsletter, we retain your name and email address for as long as you still wish to receive the emails. If you ever unsubscribe from the newsletter, we will immediately stop sending it to you, and retain your data in an inactive state as proof of the opt out.

What rights you have over your data

If you have made donations or signed up for the newsletter, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Cookies

We do not use any form of website cookie. We record certain website performance and behaviour statistics when you visit the site, but this is done without collecting any personal data, and individuals visitors can not be identified or tracked over time. IP addresses are anonymised.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, maps, etc). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
