The charity Hope for Ukraine Bristol has announced it is taking a break to re-evaluate how best to continue supporting people in the war-torn country.
The Keynsham-based charity was formed at the start of the war in 2022. In a statement Hope for Ukraine Bristol, whose last lorry load of aid was delivered at the start of July, said it wanted a huge thank you to all of those who have given their support since it started: “Those who have donated materially and financially, our wonderful volunteers and all those working behind the scenes knitting, running, collecting, cleaning, driving, cooking and much, much more.
“In the last two years we have sent over 60 tonnes of aid along with delivering a minibus and making several visits to see how things are being managed ‘on the ground’.
“The situation in Ukraine continues to get worse, but it has become extremely difficult to collect and send physical humanitarian aid over to our partners in Romania. So as a charity we will be taking a break to re-evaluate how we may best continue going forwards. Any further news will be announced here and on our social media.
“Thank you once again. The people of Ukraine will never forget your generosity.”
