The Keynsham-based charity Hope for Ukraine headed up a food parcel packing day at the Latter-Day Saints Church in Whitchurch last weekend ready for next month’s shipment of humanitarian aid.
The 1,200 emergency food parcels are being transferred to haulage firm McGill’s in Keynsham tomorrow ready to put on pallets. A lorry will then be loaded on Saturday 29th June to leave a few days later with its load of 11 tonnes of aid.
The charity has a link with a pastor in Suceava in Romania who arranges for the onward distribution of aid to Ukraine.
Hope for Ukraine is currently sourcing ingredients for bread that it can send out. So far it has flour to make around 30,000 loaves.
